Mazal After All
Lizz Ehrenpreis is an interdisciplinary artist based in Sacramento, California. Working across printmaking, painting, photography, illustration, and digital media, her practice explores memory, identity, ritual, and the ways people create meaning through everyday life.Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions and public art initiatives throughout the Pacific Northwest and California, including Fused Creative PDX's inaugural sold-out exhibition The Feminine Era, the Portland Alano Club's Artists in Recovery campaign, the City of Beaverton's #YourArtMoment, and exhibitions with the Feminist Art Museum (now the Critical Stuff Collective). Her artwork has also been featured in High Shelf Press.Lizz has also used her artwork to support community organizations through charitable fundraisers. Her contributions have included an original watercolor painting for an End the Backlog! fundraiser hosted by Outlet PDX, a custom-painted architectural house for JOIN's Hullabaloo fundraiser, and three original works donated to Shalom School Sacramento's annual benefit. The Hullabaloo fundraiser supported JOIN's work helping individuals and families transition out of homelessness into permanent housing.As an illustrator, Lizz created editorial artwork for The Rumpus and illustrated the cover of Martin Bodek's The Festivus Haggadah. She has also produced commissioned public-interest illustration, including a COVID-19 vaccination campaign using Americana-inspired imagery to encourage vaccine access in rural Northern California.Before returning her focus to her studio practice, Lizz served as Marketing Director for the Portland arts nonprofit Fused Creative PDX, where she helped curate exhibitions and build community among emerging artists.She lives and works in Sacramento with her husband, dog, and four cats, who provide a steady supply of subjects, interruptions, and unsolicited creative direction.
